Mr. John B. Johnston III – Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Mr. John B. Johnston, III is a veteran, U.S. Naval officer. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the College of Charleston, and his MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Johnston’s tenure as a Vice-President and Senior Vice President of First Federal of Charleston, Bankers First (Charleston), and Dominion Bank and Trust (Charleston), endured sum (30+) years. Active in community service, Mr. Johnston serves as Honorary Wing Commander for Charleston Air Force Base; served two six-year terms on the National Council of Accreditation for Colleges and Universities, and to date, serves a member of the National Recreation and Parks Association (just to name a few). Mr. Johnston and his wife Elizabeth have four children, Heather Remington, John B Johnston, IV, Tammy Panovich, and Chrissy Kinney.
Colonel Daniel T. O’Brien, USAR (Ret.) MPAS, PA-C, Board Trustee
Colonel O’Brien is retired from the Army and the Veteran’s Administration. He was qualified as an Army RANGER, Green Beret and Psychological Operations Officer (39B). A Veteran of three conflicts including Operation: Joint Endeavor, Desert Shield/Desert Storm and as the Commanding Officer of Task Force Medical Falcon in Kosovo. He’s also served a 26-year tenure on the medical staff at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan as a Certified Physician’s Assistant. Colonel O’Brien received a B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University; a B.S. in Medicine from Western Michigan University, and a master’s in physician assistant studies (MPAS) from the University of Nebraska. A recipient of the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star, Colonel O’Brien has spent over 36 years serving in the Active Army and Army Reserve with pride.
Mr. William J. Martz – Chief Technology Officer
Mr. William J. Martz serves as the VETERANS’ CHOW HAUL, Chief Technology Officer. He’s an Elon University graduate, and former U.S. Navy pilot and supply officer. His career amid the private sector and government in the appointment(s) of senior O&IT system analysis, and global material logistics management technologies include the DynCorp., Discovery Training Center, Charleston County Solicitor’s Office, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Martz, active in community service, resides in Cane Bay with his wife Amy, and their daughters Madison and Katelyn.
Mr. Mark R. Lentz – Board Trustee
Mr. Mark R. Lentz has served as an executive in telecommunications industry for more than a decade. He’s holds a BA from the Presbyterian College with cum laude honors. His grandfather, John Lentz, served as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant in World War II. His legacy has inspired Mr. Lentz to accept a Board Trustee position with Veterans’ Chow Haul, Inc. Mr. Lentz has played competitive golf all his life. Mr. Lentz and his lovely wife Ashley have two children, Addison (9) and Ford (5).
